ADJECTIVES - Introduction

Adjectives tell us more about nouns and sometimes pronouns. They are often called describing or qualifying words.

Quality

Answers the question: What kind of?

Quantity

Shows how much or how many of a thing is meant.

all, some, many, few, three, fourth,

Demonstrative

Points out or shows the peroson or thing meant.

this, that, these, those

Possessive

Shows ownership or possession.

my, your, his, her, their

Comparison

Shows comparision between equal people or things.

black, blacker, blackest; light, lighter, lightest

Interrogative

Asks a question

which? what? whose?

Distributive

Shows people or things - as one or in separate lots

each, every, either, neither

One night, the cat heard a noise. He couldn't think what it was. He got out of his basket and crept downstairs and peeked through the window to see the most sight that he had ever seen. He couldn't believe his eyes.
