ARTICLES - Intermediate

'A', 'an'and 'the'are called Articles. They accompany nouns, and add some subtle information about each noun.


Exercise 1 - Look at the example and then fill in the blanks with 'a', 'an' or 'the'.

He is ... hardworking student. He deserves ... 'Student of the Year' award. He is a hardworking student. He deserves the 'Student of The Year' award.

1. There was storm this afternoon, so I took shelter at bus stop near school. inter-school basketball match will be held in school hall. few players from schools in surrounding area will take part.

2. During holidays we organised excursion to beach near the city. There were great many tourists there. We had most enjoyable time in water but my sister was content with just sunbaking on beach.

3. There was old dog walking down road.
