Number - Easy


Pronouns have number - either singular- I, me, he she, it, him, her, or plural - we, us, they, them.

Nouns have number. The plural form is usually by adding an "s", although there are some exceptions: mouse - mice : fungus - fungi.

Singular Number denotes one. eg. boy, book, box, pen, flower.

The Plural Number denotes more than one. eg. boys, books, boxes, pens flowers.

Example:- That girl took the box.............................. Those girls took the boxes.

Exercise 1: Rewrite the following sentences making them plural.

1. He came from a city.

2. Where did you buy it?

3. That lizard lost its tail.

4. The passer-by did not notice the beggar.

5. I brought an apple, an orange and a mango.

6. She baked this cake herself..

7. He led his army toward the city.

8. That isn't his bicycle; it's mine.

9. She lost her pair of scissors yesterday.

10. She failed to find the atlas in the library.
