I have been an English/History teacher for the past 20 years. I have also lectured in English Curriculum and Teaching at ACU in Canberra and been Head of English and SOSE. Besides teaching in Canberra, I have taught in Singapore, Queensland and New South Wales. I completed my Doctoral degree, in the area of learning and assessment, at University of Canberra in 2005. In December 2006 I was a participatant at the 10th UNESCO_APEID Conference, Bangkok. My Paper was A Learning Environment for a Sustainable Future. My passion is teaching and making a difference.

My husband and I have been married for 38 years and proud of our 3 wonderful sons, Glenn, Brett, Dean: 5 grandsons: Zachery, Reece, Blaize, Dylan and Harrison. Our daughters-in-law,Kath, Karen and Julie complete ourwonderful family.

We have moved from Canberra, the Nations Capital and retired to our country farms - 2700 acres of bush land and grazing land at Gogobilly Hill (left) and Wruwallin (right) on the eastern side of the Bethungra Range in New South Wales. Stockinbingal is 180 klms from Canberra (ACT) - Region - Southwest slopes of NSW - 22 klms from Cootamundra and 30 klms from Temora.

All learners need to engage in real life experiences that are meaningful, interesting and fun. Leaners should be involved in directing their own learning as this will give them a sense of ownership. Learning is about discovering, inquiring, connecting and making meaning from many different contexts. Understanding with empathy and compassion..

These units of work provide exercises to improve the range of lingustic skills to master the English Language such as reading, writing, vocabularly and essentials of English grammar. The passages and exercises are graded to suit the skills and interests of students of Lower Secondary. All exercises are provided with suggested answers so that this site will prove useful for students studying and practising alone.
